Are we ready to take responsibility for the future of our planet?

Judging by the disappointing results of the UN’s Rio+20 Earth Summit last June, it appears not.

But if national governments aren’t prepared to provide the much-needed leadership on global sustainability challenges at present, we thought it would be an opportune time to ask schoolchildren around the world for their thoughts on who should be doing what to lead us out of this mess …

We’re therefore pleased to announce that the topic of our 2013 International Schools Essay Competition is: Are we ready to take responsibility for the future of our planet?

Hello, thank you for your interest in the competition. Only teachers can register and submit essays. Please let your teacher or school know – hopefully they can register and submit your essay on your behalf.

What I understand from this essay is that, we are meant to write about WHO is responsible and not how to make it sustainable. Its going to be a very hard task though :P
