2013 International Schools Essay Competition theme announced

The Living Rainforest is pleased to announce that the theme of this year’s competition is: ‘Who is responsible … are we ready to take responsibility for the future of our planet?’

The theme was chosen in response to the paralysis of governments to act at the Rio+20 Earth Summit in June 2012. We’d like to hear what children think about different people’s responsibilities and how these might or might not vary around the world.

Last year’s competition attracted 885 entries from 59 countries and this year, we’re once again welcoming submissions from the four corners of the Earth. All shortlisted schools will be invited to attended an International Schools Debate and Prize-giving event in either the UK or the Seychelles.

Please help us to spread the word amongst teachers and schools.

For further information, visit the competition home page.

Schools/teachers – register here.
