Celebrity ‘Frog Art’ Auction Launched on eBay

The Living Rainforest is proud to announce the launch of an online celebrity ‘frog art’ auction on Thursday 5th June on eBay, as part of the ‘Year of the Frog’ initiative to raise awareness and funds for global amphibian conservation.

Unique pieces of artwork have been created by high profile celebrities including Linford Christie, Paul Daniels, Geoffrey Dunbar and Sir Paul McCartney, Adam Hart-Davis and Chris Tarrant.

Bidding begins on Thursday 5th June on auction site eBay, Bidding will run for 10 days.

Frog fans and art enthusiasts alike can bid to win one of the coveted pieces of work, which include watercolours, sketches, photography and signed memorabilia. Framemakers Galleries of Newbury and Hungerford kindly provided the framing.

The ‘Year of the Frog’ campaign is supported by The European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA) and Sir David Attenborough, who are urging zoos and animal centres to step up their amphibian conservation activities in the face of declining population numbers.

Karl Hansen from the Living Rainforest said, “This is an exciting project for us, and one which we hope will do as much as possible to raise funds for frog conservation. We’ve had wonderful support from the celebrities involved and the auction is a chance for individuals to own a unique piece of ‘frog art’, as well as supporting a great cause. ”

The Living Rainforest hopes to raise £10,000 as part of its ‘Year of the Frog’ initiative to fund vital amphibian research, education and conservation activities.

The items will be listed on eBay from 5th June, and can be found by searching for ‘Celebrity Frog Art Auction’.
