‘Dear Mr UN Secretary-General’ competition announces Primary School Winners

As part of the lead-up to the UN ‘Rio+20’ Earth Summit in Brazil in June 2012, the Living Rainforest organised an international essay competition and debate, ‘Dear Mr UN Secretary-General …’

849 children from 59 countries wrote open letters to the UN Secretary-General explaining what they think governments and world leaders should be doing to build a more sustainable future on planet Earth.

The Living Rainforest is pleased to announce that the winners of the Primary Schools category are:

  • 1st Prize: Davydovskaya Gymnasium, Russia – Popova Marina
  • 2nd Prize: Millbank Primary School, UK – Nourhan Meddah
  • 3rd Prize: The Millennium School, Dubai – Kehkashan Basu

The winners were announced at the Schools Debate and Prize-giving Ceremony on 16th May 2012 at the Living Rainforest in Hampstead Norreys,Berkshire. Congratulations to them and to all who participated!
